- 2016年美国“数学大联盟杯赛”初中组决赛和夏令营由美国"数学大联盟杯赛"和普林斯顿大学数学系 (Princeton University Mathematics Department) 及哥伦比亚大学数学系 (Columbia University Mathematics Department) 联合举办。 参加决赛和夏令营的学生包括来自美国、加拿大、中国等国家初赛、复赛成绩优异的6-8年级的学生。
- 2016年美国“数学大联盟杯赛”初中组决赛和夏令营日期为2016年7月24日 - 8月4日， 学生上课和住宿的地点在The College of New Jersey (距离纽约市96公里，距离普林斯顿大学17公里)。 决赛和夏令营采用封闭式管理，在决赛和夏令营期间，除了主办方组织的field trip, 学生不允许离开营地，即 The College of New Jersey. 中国赛区初赛、复赛成绩优异的6-8年级学生可以报名参加。

Neil James Alexander Sloane (born October 10, 1939) is a British-U.S. mathematician. His major contributions are in the fields of combinatorics, error-correcting codes, and sphere packing. Sloane is best known for being the creator and maintainer of the On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences.
Sloane was born in Wales and brought up in Australia. He studied at Cornell University, New York state, under Nick DeClaris, Frank Rosenblatt, Frederick Jelinek and Wolfgang Heinrich Johannes Fuchs, receiving his Ph.D. in 1967. His doctoral dissertation was titled Lengths of Cycle Times in Random Neural Networks. Sloane joined AT&T Bell Labs in 1968 and retired from AT&T Labs in 2012. He became an AT&T Fellow in 1998. He is also a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales, an IEEE Fellow, a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. He is a winner of a Lester R. Ford Award in 1978 and the Chauvenet Prize in 1979. In 2005 Sloane received the IEEE Richard W. Hamming Medal. In 2008 he received the Mathematical Association of America David P. Robbins award. Besides mathematics, he loves rock climbing and has authored two rock-climbing guides to New Jersey.

- 关于赛前学习和培训：
- 从2016年6月13日起到出发去美国(7月24日)期间共有六个星期的时间， 每个星期我们会发给学生这周的学习资料和评测题(电子版，发送到电子邮箱)， 学习资料和评测题是由美国“数学大联盟杯赛”创始人Daniel Flegler 和 Steven Conrad, 及美国“数学大联盟杯赛”中国赛区组委会专家共同为参加决赛和夏令营的中国学生量身制作的。 对中国学生能够在决赛中出色发挥及充分体验夏令营的学习和生活有至关重要的作用。
- 为什么要参加赛前学习和培训？由于对美国教学方式等的不了解，前几年我们的学生在决赛中并不是总能够最好地发挥自己的水平， 在夏令营学习和活动中也并不是总能够收到最好的效果。 同时由于对决赛和夏令营的组织纪律及运作方式缺乏深入理解、不了解国际礼节等， 造成了不必要的误解，给美方学生、老师、活动组织者等留下了不利于中国学生整体素质的印象。 所以美方要求我们的学生必须在出发之前接受赛前学习和培训。
- 赛前学习和培训针对夏令营教授授课内容，有助于学生在夏令营上课时理解教授授课内容。
- 赛前学习和培训包括但不限于以下内容：
- Creative thinking, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
- 往届决赛试题解析，学习数学的英文思维，掌握数学英文词汇，深刻理解数学问题
- 美国其他顶尖数学竞赛试题解析，开拓学生的视野

- 每周的培训和学习资料有老师授课视频、学生自学资料、评测题等。每周的评测题在下一周公布答案。
- 赛前学习和培训的费用是多少？赛前学习和培训的费用包括在决赛和夏令营的费用中， 不需要再单独缴纳赛前学习和培训的费用。
