After students checked in, met their counselors and teammates, and had dinner, we gathered in Decker Social Space for some games designed to help the students shake off any nerves and share some laughs together. We started with a game of social bingo, at which students had to fill in a bingo card by finding and introducing themselves to 16 other students. They had to find students who, for example, knew how to solve Rubik’s cube, were wearing blue, or had a pet. After that we played various improv-inspired games taught to the counselors in advance by Adam Raichel. These games certainly seemed to generate a lot of positive energy and laughter! Then it was back to the dorms to settle in for the first night of camp.
