So I’d like to talk about our learning in these days. I found that there are many differences between American classes and Chinese classes.
First of all, the classroom we are using is much bigger than we did in China, so about one hundred students can study in it.
And in some classroom many students can use one large-table together , so students can sit around and discuss questions as a group. I think Chinese school can do that, too, because this can help us learn the teamwork spirit and how to communicate with others. Also, solving problems with friends is always fun.
There are also some differences between American and Chinese students. I think many students in America is more outgoing and talkive. They always raise their hands high when the teacher is asking questions, even though they may not 100 percent sure about the answer. They always ask teacher when they don’t understand something, but Chinese students probably would consider if the question is silly. We really should learn something from American about this – don’t be afraid, don’t care about the laughters, and ask people when you don’t understand.
About the lecture teachers gave to us, to be honest, I don’t completely understand because I’m not good at English. That makes me pretty upset because it seems that students around me all know what teachers talk about, and they can speak English very fluently.
I realized that I still have many flaws but I learned a lesson from it – never be cocky, always improve yourself and try to be better. Maybe that’s more important than the knowledge we studied in school.
